States we serve

Healthcare business insurance in Washington

Serving Washington home health and hospice agencies, healthcare organizations and the staffing firms that place clinicians there.

Workers' compensation in Washington

Washington is a monopolistic workers' compensation state: private carriers can't write it. All workers' comp for Washington employees is bought directly from the Department of Labor & Industries (L&I), with premiums based on hours worked and risk class. We can't place your Washington comp, but we do advise on classification accuracy and safety programs that lower your L&I premiums over time.

Stop-gap employer's liability

Because L&I coverage doesn't include employer's liability, add stop-gap coverage, usually by endorsement to your general liability or multi-state workers' comp policy. Staffing firms with travelers in Washington need an L&I account before placing anyone there.

Licensing

Washington licenses home health agencies through the Department of Health.

Vulnerable adults and employment law

The Vulnerable Adult Protection Act adds liability exposure for in-home care. Strong employee protections (the Law Against Discrimination, paid family and medical leave) and an active plaintiffs' bar make EPLI a core coverage here.

State rules change. These notes are a general summary, not legal advice. We confirm current requirements for your specific situation.
